Fishtail, Montana holds a special place in Jana’s heart, serving as a constant source of inspiration for her creative endeavors.
Jana’s mom and dad were raised among the breathtaking landscapes of Montana before they ended up settling down in Winter Park, Florida. Growing up, Jana would spend summers hiking through the rugged mountains and wading through the tranquil creeks.
The tiny town of Fishtail, MT has a population of about 30, a general store, an old rock shop thats becoming something new, and friends who are like family. This place is a home away from home for Jana and her family, and is the muse behind the name she chose for her calligraphy business.
Fast forward to the 2020 pandemic…
Everyone was home and trying new things. Sourdough, art, gardening, you name it. Jana, who has always experimented with art mediums, decided she needed to get her creative juices flowing. Following the Crooked Calligrapher on Instagram gave her the confidence she needed to try it out… and the rest is history!
